Imisi Solarin Shines at University of Ibadan

Ibadan, September 3rd 2016. The Nigerian Geek Girls Collaborative Camp (GeGCoC), a computer software-intense camp for girls from different schools came to a close on Saturday at the Depart of Computer Sciences, University of Ibadan. The closing ceremony witnessed by a lot of parents and dignitaries included the display of software projects successfully completed by teams and individuals. In the team-project category, Premier College represented by Imisioluwa Solarin was co-winner as her team grabbed the 1st position for the team competition.

In the individual Project category, Imisioluwa Solarin again, makes the Premier College family very proud coming 2nd in a competition that featured more than 45 girls from several Ivy League Secondary Schools competing. It must be noted that unlike many other schools and girls that attended this year’s Girls Geek camp, this was the very first time, girls from any school in Ijebu-Ode will be selected for this camp. Premier College, Ijebu-Ode not only represented Ijebu-Ode and indeed Ogun State very well throughout the camping period, PC representatives indeed exceeded expectations.

Congratulations to Imisioluwa Solarin and Busola Sokoya for demonstrating a fair but dogged fighting spirit (the Premier Spirit) throughout the competition. Our appreciation also goes to the parents of our representatives – Dr & Mrs Solarin and Mr & Mrs Sokoya for part sponsoring the participation of these kids. We also thank Ms Tope Adeyemi, the teacher-on-tour who attended to our representatives  during the one-week event.

Again, Premier College has shone very brightly and we are indeed happy to be the home of Champions!
